I have been looking at the possibilities that 5starshine has to offer. I have a question regarding their claim that they have a patent for their technology. How does that work?

I also bought the 5 star shine kit (the deluxe model for $100) and guess what? It didn’t work worth donkey terds. The shit is a scam clear and simple. Don’t waste your money and time. Go get a bottle of NuFinish or something similar for around $5 – you will get a far better shine and longer lasting protection.

I bought the 5 Star Shine Deluxe kit on the advice of a friend who uses it on an airplane. I used it on a newly purchased used 2005 Passat. This car still has nice paint with typical wear and tear scratches. I followed the directions exactly. Washed the car in the pH Neutral soap. Dried. Clay bar the entire car then washed again. Then wash with the step 1solution, let that dry then rinse and dry car again. Finally, apply the step 2 compound. Allow to dry and buff out. It took about 5 hours to do the whole process but I am thoroughly impressed with the outcome. The finish is as good or better than any new car. The paint shines and has a smooth slick feel to it. The scratches, though still visible, are much more difficult to see. I’m not sure if people posting negative comments clay barred the car first but that is a must do on any car. It makes all the difference. I did this procedure a week ago. This car is not garaged and I’ve driven it all week. It still looks like I just finished it 5 minutes ago. I don’t know how long the finish will last but will update if it goes bad. My friends plane was done 3 years ago and looks great so who knows. Lastly, I’m not affiliated with this company in any way. I’m just a consumer who is very happy with the product and thought I would give another perspective on it other than all the negative comments I see above. Have not tried the 5 star shine. I WAS tempted to give it a try but all the negative comments about 5 star shine changed my mind. I’m glad I didn’t buy it and saved myself 70 bucks. Thank’s for the heads up on 5 star shine.

I can’t believe 5starshine is still in business. Everyone knows they are a scam. I figured by now that some lawyer would have sued them into bankruptcy court. I guess I will have to wait a little longer.

Wow ! I had no idea there were literally thousands of unhappy 5 star shine customers. That confirms it for me. 5 star shine is a scam! I will tell everyone at work to avoid it. Thanks for this great article.

5 Star Shine sucks. I know this from first hand experience. I used it on my Mercedes and it was pure crap. Within a few weeks it literally looked like I had never waxed or cleaned the car. The stuff does not work and it is a ripoff!

5 star shine sucks. I was given it as a present from my now exgirlfriend. It came with 2 tiny bottles and was not enough to cover my entire Honda Accord. And what was treated didn’t last long at all. The stuff is a rip off. Then I found out she paid $70 for it – what a scam! I have had better results, better shine and better protection for my car using Turtle Wax which costs under $4 at Target!

Product is a scam! I bought it like a year ago and there wasn’t even enough solution to cover my truck. The areas that I did cover? Well one week later they looked like they hadn’t even been treated at all. The stuff sucks and just go and try and get a refund from the company. They won’t return calls – no wonder they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau!
