AT&T U-Verse and DSL Complaint – Horrible Customer Service and Lying Sales Representatives!!

My boyfriend and I went into AT&T to get cable and an internet package. We recently had updated to a HD TV and was looking to get U-VERSE. We specifially went to AT&T because our apartment manager had told us that a resident of our apartment complex had worked there. Well, it turned out that she was not there, so we had gotten help from another client.

 She told us that we could get U-VERSE and DSL together, which would be perfect because just internet alone there is $100. My boyfriend and I had paid and set everything up for someone to come out and install everything. We were then good to go for that Friday for internet, but had to wait for cable two weeks later!

Thursday came and I received a phone call from the technician saying that he can come out today and install the internet, but just has to go by the shop to pick up a part. I was confused, but told him that would be fine considering I would have internet a day early. Well the guy comes, tells me that someone messed up the order and can’t find a part. He reccomended me calling the store to see what was up. At this point, I was getting annoyed and actually just went to the store. Going into the store, I was told that the lady who set the account up was not there, and that noone else could not help us because she had dealt with us. Now, I was really getting ticked off.


When we first went and signed up for everything, the lady who set the account told us we could call her at any point if we had problems or questions. Well that was not the case. She never returned my phone call and I ended up going up to the store for a third time. Mind you that it is Friday morning and the guy is coming to install the internet at 1.

I went in to tell her eeverything that happened, so she called to find out what was going on. Well, come to find out she told us that we could not get U-VERSE with the DSL, then acted so surprised. I was really pissed now. Also, the guy that came out Thurday had cancelled the original internet installation for Friday. If I didnt go to the store, I would have waited for him to come to install the internet that day. How ridiculous!

At this point, she told us our only options was to keep the U-VERSE and pay 100 a month for internet. I said that it was ridiculous, especially when we aren’t going to use it that much. She had told me that she was going to work on this case and see if she could get us a deal. We ended up cancelling everything and was told that we had to mail the modem back to them that was shipped to us. I said absolutely not and we left.

We will never go back there, service is so horrible and noone can help you, unless they are the ones that set your account up! Avoid AT&T at all costs!!!!

    Whoa, what a nightmare. That sounds awful. Makes me glad to be an employee and subscriber of DISH Network where the customer service is much better. DISH has a lot of other advantages over services like U-Verse too. For instance if you’re getting all your entertainment / communication services from a single source, if one goes down, everything goes down. DISH also has more HD channels than anyone else in the industry and with great offers like HD free for life you end up paying less too. So it’s definitely a win/win.
