Big Lots Dorm in a Tote review – is this bed in a bag of good quality or for decoration purposes only?

Big Lots dorm in a tote was very low quality and the comforter ripped just by my sitting on it!

I and my boyfriend happened to be taking classes at Notre Dame over the summer. I saw an ad in a local flyer for Big Lots and a back to campus dorm in a tote (bed in a bag) deal that they had. You got a tote, reversible double-sided comforter, bed pillow, three-piece sheet set a fleece wrap and a pillow sham all for $44.88. That’s a pretty good deal in my book.

They had several different styles available and I took the one that looked like the Aurora Borealis. I was so excited that I couldn’t wait to decorate our bed with these items and surprise my boyfriend. I was a little disappointed when I opened up the tote and started to take the items out of it. The quality was not what I thought it would be.

Everything felt like it was really cheap like what I would expect at Kmart for $30 or less. Seriously the items in this tote I wouldn’t doubt if I could buy them from her $30 at Kmart because that’s the level quality – it was terrible. Well I bought them and rode the bus home. So I wasn’t about to go all the way back to big lots and spent several hours getting out there on the bus again to return this right away.

So I decided to make the bed and put everything on it anyway. It looked nice when it was all assembled on my bed. But then it happened, I sat down on it for a second and the reversible comforter ripped. All I did was sit on it and it ripped. And no, I’m not some big fat Lady. I recently started working out and bought a Insanity fitness DVD off of Amazon.com – that is one serious workout.

Anyway, so I’m definitely not an overweight person and this reversible comforter ripped just by me sitting on it.  I took the comforter and held it up and turned it over to see what the other side look like and it was this really ugly green color.  This bed in a bag or dorm in a tote or whatever you call it sheet set is really crap.  It is very cheaply constructed and made a very cheap materials.

So I took it all off the bed, put it back in the tote and decided I was gone I take it back to return it to Big Lots the next day.  I was a little miffed because I wasn’t able to surprise my boyfriend with what I thought would be a nice sheet set and bedding set.  Instead now I had a messed up bed when he got home.  Definitely go and look elsewhere for your bedding needs.  In this case the low price or what I thought was a low price was definitely not an indicator of value in the slightest bit.

This bed in a bag or dorm in a tote was just really cheap and very low quality.  At least big lots did let me return them to them and they gave me a store credit because I somehow couldn’t find my receipt and must have misplaced it.

I’m glad I waited to see what he looked like before buying the home sewing fabric wall bedding! and go with a brown! . Home I reusable wall looking purple flowers to decorate my daughters room and unfortunately when they got the colors are really more purple than burgundy
