Black Friday Shopping – Are the deals worth the hassle of early shopping times and over crowded stores?

It’s that time of year again!  How many of you have waited all year for this day to come around again?!  Well it’s almost here, Black Friday, where people get up @ 2am just to make it to the stores in time for the awesome prices on things that they can buy for Christmas gifts, or things that they can just buy for themselves.

People all over the country “celebrate” Black Friday just to save a few bucks on a movie, a television, a video game, and even pet supplies!  The only problem with having all of these amazing deals is that you have to get up extremely early in order to make it to the store and once you get to the store there is always a huge line to get in.  Also, once you get into the store there’s no guarantee that you are going to get what you want, depending on the quantity that the store has supplied.

Black Friday is also a big hazard seeing that a man died at a Wal-Mart in Connecticut a few years ago.  The poor man was just trying to help a pregnant woman get through the crowd, when he was trampled by the huge crowd. The only changes to Wal-Mart’s Black Friday routine in Connecticut was that they were going to start forming the lines inside and that they were only going to let a certain amount of people in at a time.  This could still cause a stampede of people because the ones that had to wait will be upset that they may not be able to get what they want because they were in the back of the line.

The people in the back of the line must not know the secret to Black Friday shopping yet.  The thing that you should do is research online to see if any stores that you want to go to have their Black Friday ads up online a week or two ahead of time.  I did this just the other night with my boyfriend and we wrote down a whole bunch of stuff that we are looking forward to getting from a gumball machine for $9.99 from Kohl’s to a queen size air mattress from Gander Mtn. for only $34.99!

I am sad to admit that I am one of those crazy Black Friday shoppers.  I have only done the crazy early morning shopping for two years now, but I love it!  The best thing to do though if you want to avoid all of the crazy drivers and the crazy grocery cart people who race around the stores bumping into a ton of people and not even caring one bit about it, is to shop online.  Now if you don’t have a computer though I would say definitely try to get to someone’s house who does have one because it will be worth your time.  Even though you have to wait to get the items that you purchase to be delivered to your house, you will be happy that you did.  Believe me the craziness is not worth your time or stress.

I do recommend going out later on in the day on Black Friday, because a lot of the people are always gone back home to go to sleep because they got all the items that they wanted.  However, some people stay out all day and shop.  The reasoning for this is so that they can get all of their Christmas shopping done in one day.  I have done some research and the top websites for viewing every year’s black friday ads early are www.theblackfriday.comwww.bfads.net, and www.blackfriday.info.
