Boost Mobile prepaid cellphone service review and complaint – damn telemarketing calls keep using up my minutes!

Boost Mobile prepaid cellphone service review and complaint

Boost Mobile I found out actually scams their customers out of minutes by selling their cell phone numbers to telemarketing companies!

I recently had take a job as a cashier at Wal-Mart because I lost my previous job due to the bad recession. I need a cell phone so I contact my family and friends but my bad credit made it so that I couldn’t get a regular cell phone contract. So my only options were a pay-as-you-go or prepaid cell phone plan. So I bought a Boost Mobile cell phone and thought it would be great as they only charge for the minutes that I use.

But as soon as I started using the cell phone for boost mobile I noticed that I was getting call after call from telemarketers. This happened right as soon as I started using the phone. The problem with this is that it uses up your minutes and fast – very fast. These telemarketers it seemed had my boost mobile cell phone number before I could even give it out to my friends and family.

After researching this a little bit on the Internet it turns out that boost mobile does some shady business practices. As soon as you sign up with them and turn on your cell phone they give out your cell phone number to countless telemarketing companies and lists. This way you get inundated with tons of telemarketing calls and your minutes get used up really fast.

So you have to buy many more minutes than you normally would and this boosts profits for prepaid Boost Mobile big time. That is just bad business practices and wrong. This is kind of like entrapment for your customers. Once you get them you sell off their phone numbers and there’s nothing you can do to block these people out.

You cannot stop or block out these telemarketing calls. Believe me I have tried. Even my home phone has options available in it to block out a maximum of 50 phone numbers. This boost mobile cell phone cannot block out one phone number. Any cell phone you see out there even one that’s several years old has number blocking capabilities.

Boost mobile prepaid cell phone service only sells cell phones that do not have number blocking capabilities. I wonder why? Is it because they want you to receive as many telemarketing calls as possible? Most definitely yes. This one is right for a class-action lawsuit. This just goes to show that boost mobile does not operate with customers best interests in mind.

My advice here is to skip boost mobile and go with a better cell phone provider that lets you block out numbers and especially one that does not sell out their customer’s cell phone numbers to telemarketing companies.

I would have been as mad as a snake if it was me!! I’m on Net10 and I’ve never had a problem so you should try them! You can go from 10c a minute down to 3c a minute or unlimited depending on your finances and you’re never locked in….you can change whenever you like! The freedom of being able to do what suits you is liberating and the national coverage is awesome!

Hate to say it but boost mobile does not give out your number to telemarketers. Been with them over a year with no telemarketers ever calling my phone. I’m on their unlimited with shrinkage plan and my bill has already dropped once. I’ve never had a problem with Boost service except with the iDen phones. More than likely, the phone number you was assigned was bombarded with telemarketers from the previous owner. There is a Do-Not-Call list and it is free to register your phone number on it…. Worked great for my mom’s home number, they rarely ever call there anymore!
