Have you ever looked for a place to eat amazing Chinese food? This week I tried a place called Chen’s Bistro located in Charlotte, NC. I had just moved to Charlotte about 3 months ago and have discovered that there are hundreds of restaurants throughout the Charlotte area so it isn’t really hard to find a place to eat. Therefore, the problem then is making the decision of which one looks good to try and sounds good.
As I was driving down W.T. Harris Blvd, I had seen a place called Chen’s Bistro, in which looked really nice. I thought to myself that it looked nice and I had heard it was a Chinese restaurant, so I thought I would give it a try. As I figured out where I was supposed to park, I then had to figure out where the entrance to the restaurant was. I finally figured it out that I had to park in the upper parking deck since restaurant was upstairs.
As I was walking into Chen’s Bistro, I had noticed a sign that had specials listed on it. They had a special going for a lunch buffet only for $4.99. I was really excited to get inside and enjoy a Chinese buffet for only $4.99 which is usually $7.99 and then 10.95 on the weekends. As I walked inside, there was a hostess desk without anyone standing there. I was really confused because I had not been there before so I didn’t know if I was supposed to seat myself or wait for a hostess.
After about 3-4 minutes, a woman greeted me and asked me questions, but I couldn’t understand what she had said to me. She had me follow her into the left side of the room, but all the tables were full so we then turned around and headed to the other side of the restaurant. When I was seated at a table, I was then greeted by a gentleman who then asked me what I wanted to drink. After he had brought me my water, I wasn’t greeted by anyone else or asked what I was going to order.
Although there was great confusion, I just insisted go up to the buffet lines and start eating. As I approached the buffet lines, I looked around and there were tons of options of food!! The other part to the buffet special was that it included the hibachi style cooking as well. This was an amazing special, but to try everything in Chen’s Bistro would be impossible. Not only did the buffet include Chinese food, but it also included Japanese and American Cuisine.
Their site states that they have over 120 choices on the buffet, and I truly believe that. They had buffet lines of desserts, soups, appetizers, sushi, oyster bar, ribeye steaks, and salads. As I looked around the restaurant, they had a nice waterfall inside and also had a stage that must be for music groups to play. After completing 2 rounds of food, I was completely filled. I was so filled that I thought someone had to roll me out to my car!
The food was delicious and absolutely amazing. The lack of customer service was made up by the delicious and huge variety of food. I would absolutely recommend anyone to try Chen’s Bistro and enjoy the amazing dining experience I did.
