CPCC has a serious parking problem – there is not enough parking spaces for students at Central Piedmont Community College!

CPCC parking problem review

Parking at CPCC sucks! Something needs to be done about this!

If you think parking is tough for your job or for your school you should just try parking at CPCC (Central Piedmont Community College) here in Charlotte North Carolina. I’m talking about the downtown main location in downtown Charlotte. You have to literally get up and be down here five hours before classes begin to find a parking spot.

If I get here at 8 am for a 10 am class I can’t find a spot to park. Maybe the dental hygienists take all the spots early or have someone saving them for them somehow – I have yet to figure how the dental hygienists seem to have all the parking spots in the first floor of the parking deck – that doesn’t compute with me.

Where is one supposed to park? Lots of students and the parking at the hospital and get tickets when they start recognizing their cars there too often. Others end up parking at various businesses on Central Avenue and other near areas. I started parking at a law office down the street because they hadn’t figured out that I’d been parking there. It worked good until I found out my car was towed one day.

That ended up being pretty expensive – $175 to get my car back. A student shouldn’t have to go through all this malarkey to park their car to go to their college. It’s either this or you can sit in the parking deck and hold up traffic while you wait for someone to hopefully come out and get in their car and drive off so you can get their spot.

I don’t see the teachers or snotty administrators as having any kind of parking issues whatsoever. We are paying more money than ever to attend this college in the way of higher class fees, book prices that are becoming absolutely absurd and then parking fees and parking passes. I thought college was supposed to be affordable so that anyone could go.

Now I get financial aid to help pay for some of this stuff but most of it comes in the form of student loans. What that means I got a pay through the nose once I graduate to pay it all back. I think that what they need to do here at CPCC is cut back on some of the frivolous salaries and expenditures of some of the administrative staff we have here. They don’t do anything of value anyway. They’re basically just dead weight and they take some huge salaries and funding.

If they would fire half of them and then take the millions of dollars they would be saving them put that into building more parking spots and lowering student costs that were deaf one be a good start. They could also start by hiring some better quality teachers too. My psychology teacher does not show up at the time and doesn’t even know what they’re talking about.

I have a chemistry professor that’s a complete idiot and I think that my math teacher is stoned on a daily basis – that are their eyes are permanently bloodshot red and glassy looking. It’s amazing our costs go up – way up. The quality of education drops through the floor and you can’t find a place to park half the time. What a great school CPCC is – I can’t wait to transfer out of here and go to a quality college like UNC (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)!
