AT&T has a history of ripping off its customers. Maybe they should be on the receiving end of a FTC investigation?

I decided to downgrade from the top 250 to the top 200 with local channels and they insisted that I agree to a contract. They demand a credit card and tell me that if I quit my 24 month contract early they will use my credit card to charge me 10 dollars for every month of the contract I don’t finish. I think well that’s fine I don’t intend to quit. But ha! the jokes on me.They just raised the price to what the top 250 was after only 5 months. So now I have 19 months left on my contract and quitting would be really expensive. I called them because they did not tell me in advance that they were going to raise prices. They told me that they sent out letters. I explained that I did not get a letter,so 1/2 hour later they sent me an email telling me that they reserve the right to change prices and programing at any time. So what was the point of the contract? Well by not telling me that the contract did not guarantee the price I was given’ they denied me the right to make an informed decision and trapped me into a contract that serves only them and guarantees them a certain amount of money even if I get disgusted and quit. I could cancel my credit card and quit, but one should read the fine print on service contracts, at the bottom they have a statement about their right to give your information to a credit agency.
