Glad Force Flex Garbage Bags – If You Want to Get Mad, Then Buy GLAD!!

So, you’ve probably seen those commercials on TV about Glad brand trash bags.  There are other types of trash bags, such as Hefty and just your generic store brand trash bags that are advertised too, you just have to buy them and determine which work best for your family and lifestyle.  Glad trash bags company slogan is supposed to be “Don’t get mad, get glad!”   That slogan is a big joke and is used to get people to buy their product and make them think that it will solve all of their trash can issues.

I have tried several different brands of trash bags including Hefty.  Hefty is an alright trash bag, however it is an expensive one.  There are also always coupons in the paper for Hefty brand trash bags as well, which is a reason why people may buy their brand.  I always buy Hefty brand sandwich bags, storage bags, and freezer bags.  I find that with the coupons and the bags always being on sale it is cheaper to buy Hefty brand bags.

Also the generic store brand is really not as bad as it sounds.  I have several mini trash cans in my apartment and I use the medium sized Harris Teeter brand trash bags.  They last for a really long time and I can fit a lot of garbage into them without the sides ripping.  They are also perfect size for cat litter.  I have two cats and the medium sized garbage bags are the perfect size to fit all of the waste from their cat litter box.

Anyways, now back to the horrible Glad trash bags…I went to BJ’s Wholesale Club on a limited budget and needed to pick up garbage bags.  There were coupons from the paper and BJ’s Wholesale Club had coupons for the Glad Flex Trash bags.  I looked at the price and they were also cheaper than the ones that I usually buy.  I decided to go with the flex bags for two reasons, one because they were the cheapest and I was hoping that I wouldn’t go through as many trash bags with these “special” flex bags.

Well I thought wrong!  Instead of stretching to make more room in the trash bag, the bag would split every time I tried to make it stretch to fit more in it.  Luckily, when I went to BJ’s to exchange these bags for new ones that weren’t the flex brand, the cashier gave me no problems and I went right back to the Heft bags I buy all the time from BJ’s Wholesale Club.

I was extremely happy that I was able to exchange the terrible, not –so flexible “flex bags” for the bags that are not supposed to be flexible that are able to fit more garbage in them.  Needless to say, Glad Brand needs to change their motto to something that will not make people angry when instead of getting glad like their company slogan says, they get mad, which is the opposite of what they want!
