My family and I had gone to Applebee’s for a dinner in honor of my brother’s birthday. When we had gotten into the restaurant, the hostess took our name and told us that it was a 15 minute wait time. We had all gladly said yes to waiting so we all took a seat outside due to the beautiful afternoon.
Our table was ready within the 15 minutes, which we all were excited due to be starving at this point in time. We had all been looking at the menu for about 10 minutes and then it was time to order. We had ordered a whole variety of meals including alfredo, seafood, chicken, burgers, and steaks. One of the major decisions resulting in coming to Applebee’s was the 2 for $20 deal. This included an appetizer and 2 meals from a select list as advertised.
As soon as we got our main meals, the problems started to begin. My mother’s chicken alfredo was as cold as refrigerated leftover of chicken alfredo!! When my sister got her quesadilla burger, she stated that hers was ice cold too!! When you thought 2 meals were bad, my girlfriend’s chicken alfredo was ice cold as well. When we had called the server over, he had apologized for the meals and had taken them back to reheat them. This was not the end…
When he had returned, the dishes were still cold and were like he never even brought them back to the kitchen. At this point everyone else at the table had finished their meals and were ready to hit the road. This was so horrible that the manager came directly over and apologized a million times about the food quality. We were so upset because it had spoiled the mood of the night and left many of us still hungry. Since then, I have not returned to Applebee’s and will always choose elsewhere even if they have 2 for $20 deal!!
I recently visited Chicago and had the chance to share a beer with a buddy at the Applebees in Arlington Heights. This place was very friendly and we met several locals who watched the playoff hockey games with us. The bartender was very helpful and service was excellent.
I have eaten at other Applebee’s and most of the time, food is excellent. We did have one experience where a dish came out cold, but the manager gave us a credit for that meal.

I love Applebees. Especially the store in Elgin Il. my service is always great. I go there once a week. I love kayla!!!
