I have several kids and as you know with kids will always have smudges, fingerprints, spills, etc… everywhere and especially on glass. In my house it seems like the cleaning is almost never done – you start in one area and by the time you get back that area is already dirty again.
So, as you can see, I need products that actually work and work well at that. Well, I found a product that does more than just work. It is simply the best glass cleaner I have ever used. It is manufactured by Gunk (the manufacturers of engine cleaning and other automotive products) and it comes a spray can.
You shake it up and spray it on the area you want to clean. It comes out like a foam and it will literally eat up any smudge, grease spot or worse that you throw its way. I sell used and new cars at the local Honda store in Concord NC and I use this Gunk glass cleaner every day to remove the adhesive on the glass from the window stickers. This adhesive is almost impossible to remove and Windex and other similar glass cleaners have absolutely no effect on it – the Gunk glass cleaner cuts right through it with ease.
I use the Gunk glass cleaner for the insides of the windshield, all the glass on cars, anything plastic – its great for cleaning the steering column and cup holders in cars and mini vans. It’s also great for pre-treating bug splatter on the front of cars. You know when you’re waxing or cleaning your car and you try and remove those bugs, bird poop and more and they are stubborn or even impossible to get off?
Well, just spray on some of this Gunk glass cleaner and then watch how much easier it is to remove bugs, dirt and more from the bumper and front area of the car. It also works great in the bathroom. I helped a friend clean up a foreclosure property they bought as an investment. The bathrooms had mildew all over the shower stalls, The Gunk glass cleaner made easy work of the mildew and the caked on soap scum and hard water deposits that made the shower door look opaque.
When we were done with that house it looked great and that bathroom looked brand new thanks to the Gunk glass cleaner. I just sprayed the foam all over and let it sit for about 5 minutes and the mildew and soap residue came right off with a quick wipe with a paper towel. The Gunk glass cleaner is the chemical equivalent of duct tape – there are so many uses for it and it works great.
It also costs about the same as a bottle of Windex but runs circles around it in effectiveness. I paid $1.97 for a 19 ounce can of Gunk glass cleaner and it lasts me as long as several bottles of Windex. Also, I don’t have to scrub or reapply like I do with Windex. The Gunk glass cleaner is far better and much more useful.
I like the foaming properties and the fact that you can spray it on and let it sit on a vertical surface like car windows and shower doors. You could never do that with Windex. Go get a bottle of Gunk glass cleaner yourself and give it a try – you will see why I can’t go back to Windex ever again.
