I returned a bad pair of Asics sneakers to Kohl's and found they truly have a no hassle return policy.
I bought a pair of black Asics running sneakers from Kohl’s last weekend. I got a good price on the pair of sneakers as they were on sale plus I got a discount of 20% for using my wife’s Kohl’s card. I didn’t have a chance to wear the sneakers until the following day, but when I did I notice they were not comfortable at all and actually hurt my feet.
The sneakers felt good when I tried them on at Kohl’s, but when I actually wore them for about half an hour at home they hurt my feet. They were the right size and I had always worn Asics running sneakers. But there was something very wrong with this pair of sneakers. literally just after wearing them for under an hour it felt like I had gout in my feet.
So I took the speakers off and I noticed a horrible smell similar to burning rubber. I have never had a pair of sneakers do this. The sneakers by Asics shoe company must’ve been made of extremely cheap materials. Just after wearing them for a little while they smelled like a motorcycle tire after a heavy duty burnout.
My wife said to smell the sneakers made her sick to her stomach. That was enough for maze I took the snickers and put them in the box so I could return them to Kohl’s. I wasn’t able to get back over to the area of town where Kohl’s is located until Wednesday. By that time we had also misplaced the receipt. Usually when you don’t have a receipt store will not take back or accept a return.
My wife said Kohl’s has a no questions asked return policy and that they’ve never given her a problem when she returns items and she is the queen of returns – believe me. So she gave me her Kohl’s store card and I went over to Kohl’s and the lady at the customer service department in the back of the store was actually really nice and took my return no questions asked.

I thought she was going to give me a problem and inquire as to why I was returning them and why I didn’t have the receipt. I also thought she my give me a problem because the store card was not mine it was my wifes, but all she did was ask me for my store card and credit the price paid back on the store card. It had to have been one of the simplest and most pleasant returns I’ve ever done.
I appreciate stores like Kohl’s that believe in providing the best customer service possible and truly have a no hassle return policy. The sneakers by Asics may have been bad or had something wrong with them, but there was nothing wrong with Kohl’s whatsoever. This just further shows me what my wife has been telling me all along – that Kohl’s is a great store.

In August 2011 I ordered a wedding gift for friends who had registered with Kohls… To make a long story short they never received it but I didn’t find out until late March when I happened to be visiting in their town. I immediately contacted Kohls who apologized and said I would get a full refund. Now, several weeks and lots of emails and phone calls later they come up with an unpublished rule that missing shipmentsust be reported in 30 days. The problem is that newlyweds have 12 months in which to send out thank you acknowledgements and so I was unaware they didn’t get the gift and they were unaware they were supposed to be receiving the gift so they wouldn’t have reported it. Kohls has $200 of my money, won’t return it! What a scam!
