I was just flipping through the channels tonight and I went up on MTV their TV show Silent Library. For those of you that don’t know what Silent Library is or what it’s about, they take a group of six friends seated three to each side of a table. They then flip over cards and the one with the “X” or yellow card is subjected to some kind of funny torture. While this is occurring the main name of the game is silence and if the sound meter which is on the bottom left of the TV screen gets into the red then they don’t get any money for that particular event.
Some of the whole areas things that come up for the individual that gets the yellow card are just unbelievable. Let’s see, they had put a bowl over the guy’s head which had a vacuum hookup on both sides. They then for 20 seconds vacuumed up a very dirty couch and the nasty stuff that got sucked up got stuck in the bowl and was blown all over the guy.
Another one of these events was something about a closed-door. The person with the yellow card had to open up the door and face whatever torture was waiting for them on the other side. When the girl opened up the door the barrel of a cannon came down and went off and hit her with probably a pound of flour. She was a white mess. I remember this when one’s for her friends couldn’t keep quiet or laughing so hard that they lost that round and any monies earned in that round.

Then of course another guy lost had frozen snowballs blown at him through a machine similar to a potato cannon and these out as he hit him pretty hard it is just because they left a mark similar to that if you get hit by a paintball gun minus the paint. That must’ve hurt.
Next came one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. They called it the knuckle drill and basically what it was is subjected the poor girl that lost to 30 seconds of high-speed noogies on both sides of her head. That was just unreal and absolutely hilarious. But the funniest of all had to have been either the nipple race or the billiard ball rack. The nipple race they attached these remote-controlled vehicles to this guys nipples by painful clips and then for 20 seconds they ran these vehicles on our rug while they were pulling on the guys nipples. That was hilarious.
And then the billiard ball rack, knowing the nature of MTV and the Silent Library, definitely was not good for those that lost. This time five people lost in one person got to sit and watch them. The five that lost had to place their groins in specially designed billiard pockets on a billiard table and a professional billiard player – a hot one at that – then proceeded to line up and shoot the cue ball right at their groin one by one. You could tell this was pretty painful as each one was fighting to not make too much noise.
If you’re looking for a TV show that is just outright slapstick funny and one or you don’t have to necessarily be watching it from the very beginning, then this is definitely it. If you haven’t watched it you need to. If you have digital cable or a DVR go look it up and record it so you can watch it when its convenient for you. You won’t be disappointed! It is a geat and funny show.
Silent Library is funny as hell! I have yet to watch an episode that I don’t like. I also like that hot blond chick they sometimes use in the game. She looks like a porn queen – anyone know her name so I can look her up and download some free naked pictures of her at Pirate Bay or h33t?
How does one get on the show? Is ther a number you can call at MTV to get on the Silent Library. It is so cool and funny I would love to be on it.
This show is horrible, it’s stolen from the japanese Gaki no Tsukai which is the original.
