Don't buy headlight restoration from Crystal View Chemicals, myheadlight.com or through Wal-Mart! It's all a big scam and a product that doesn't work at all!
I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to Wal-Mart to get an oil change. Not had to wait in line for about 20 minutes before they came out to ask me what I wanted done and then they said it would be about an hour before it was finished. So I went inside a Wal-Mart and figured I’d do some shopping and then pick up my SUV when I was done.
While I was in Wal-Mart I noticed an advertisement on the counter at the automotive services desk that showed pictures of before and after for headlight restoration. It showed out took yellow cloudy headlights and made them clear again. On the bottom of the picture or display was the website myheadlight.com.
I found it interesting because I had noticed the other day that the headlight lenses are looking slightly cloudy. It’s not extremely noticeable, but I can see its starting to get worse and I’ve seen other people’s cars with headlights that are really yellow and cloudy in the parking lot at Wal-Mart. Mine were not this bad, but if they’re going to get worse and worse I might have to replace them at some point in time and I wonder what that expense would be. I take great care of my cars and truck and wash and wax them regularly and the slight cloudiness is the only imperfection on my Jeep.
So, I asked the Wal-Mart clerk at the automotive counter if they recommended this headlight restoration service. They said they’d do it quite often and customers are pleased with it. So I told them to go ahead and perform this service on my vehicle while they had it in the shop. The lady said no problem and it would only take five or so additional minutes. So I left the Wal-Mart counter and walked around Wal-Mart and shopped until an hour had gone by and then I went back to the automotive area to see if my truck was done.
The clerk said it was good so I paid for the oil change and the headlight restoration service. They handed me my keys and told me were my vehicle was. I walked to my Jeep with a pep in my stride looking forward to seeing brand-new looking headlight lenses like they had in the pictures inside of Wal-Mart. But when I got to my Jeep my headlights didn’t look better or the same. They look much worse. They looked like the ones in the cars out front of Wal-Mart where these people take no care of their cars whatsoever and there paint is flaking off and oxidized and same with their headlight lenses.
The headlights did not look slightly cloudy like they did before they went in for this treatment. I stormed great back in the Wal-Mart and told him they made my Jeep Cherokee worse, not better. And not only that, but the idiots that applied it apparently let the chemicals in his treatment grip down my bumper and a stained and left these permanent drip marks on my bumper. Wal-Mart says they do not guarantee this treatment and that I would have to contact the manufacturer.
So on the way home I did a little research on my iPhone on the Internet. I found that myheadlight.com is owned by Crystal view chemicals and when I looked them up things got really interesting to say the least. I found a lot of mixed reviews and quite a few of these were very negative and some even indicated that it was a complete scam! Then I read one complaint were told you to check them out at the Better Business Bureau. So I did that with the link they provided (http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org/Business-Report/Crystal-View-Chemicals-Inc-36000268) and found them to have the worst rating possible at the Better Business Bureau – an F!
Apparently, according to the Better Business Bureau, Crystal View Chemicals, never responded to complaints ever. This is why they probably didn’t want to refund me either. They don’t do that either and definitely don’t honor their guarantee. Here is their contact information as per the Better Business Bureau:
Crystal View Chemicals, Inc.
8520 Via Romana
Boca Raton, FL 33496-4318
(954)423-1874
What I also found interesting were numerous complaints at sites like Ripoffreport.com (http://www.ripoffreport.com/body-work-repair/crystal-view-chemica/crystal-view-chemicals-inc-li-a5a48.htm). And many of the rebuttals or responses looked very, very similar like they may have been written by the same person and possibly by the company in question here – that’s very spammy and shady business behavior. To mislead customers by leaving fake responses and comments in attempts to bury the real complaints from real customers and consumers.
I forwarded my complaint to the Better Business Bureau and if you were burned by them you need to do the same. If that doesn’t work I will be forwarding it to my state attorney general’s office and I will also be reporting them to the FTC as a definite fraud and scam website and product. I can’t stand companies that make false promises and false guarantees do not refund customers. Crystal View Chemicals and their website myheadlight.com are a scam and hopefully there’s an attorney out there that will read this and sue them untl they are bankrupand closed down shortly.
Obviously my review here is very negative and if our review I would definitely avoid both Crystal View chemicals and their website myheadlight.com!

Headlight Restoration Customers,
I had the service performed at my local WM and IT DID WORK but as a month passed, the plastic returned to cloudy. So it is not permanent and neither is the original lens clearness! Hope U got UR $ back for the service that did not work on UR car. How many other products have U bought, anywhere, that did not perform as advertised? When a product is not good, word spreads and the product disappears. WM should back their service promises but they are NOT RESPONSIBLE for products not performing as advertised. No store that serves the public by selling products from manufacturers can guarantee the performance of these products. Romper Has Spoken!
I bought that Crystal View stuff at walmrt. What a joke! I did one headlight & not only did it not do what the package said it would do, it made it much worse! I’m glad I waited to see if it worked on the first one before I messed the other one up too! Still, I have one headlight that’s foggy, scratched, & its dimmer than the other one! I know I won’t be able to get my money back from those sorry assholes. I don’t think anybody else did either. But I was hoping someone on here might be able to tell me how to get it off. I’m a single mom of two. I don’t have the money right now to replace the headlight. Thanks! Oh, Crystal View kiss my little ass!
