How many of you out there love to read? There are so many books out there that not so many people like to read at all. I don’t understand why people don’t like to read, it brightens my day when I sit down to a good book. One of my favorite authors is Nicholas Sparks, he writes a lot of teen romance-type books. They are not only for teens, adults can read them too, I personally think they are good for all ages.
I just love to read books in general, they make me feel like I am in my own little world for the time that I am reading. One of the reasons I love the author Nicholas Sparks is that all of his books are so easy to relate to. The most popular books that he has written are The Last Song, The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Dear John, and Nights in Rodanthe. As many of you probably know, all of the books that I listed above have also been made into movies.
The one thing about books being made into movies, is that the movies are usually not as good as the books. Books are a place where you can add a lot of details and not worry about how long you are going to make people sit and watch the movie unfold. I personally prefer to read books because of this exact reason. I love to know all of the little intricate little details and be able to feel as though the events are unfolding right in front of my eyes.
One thing though that I have heard from a lot of Nicholas Sparks fans is that they absolutely love the books, they just wish they weren’t so sad. If you have not read any of the books that I listed above then now is when I would tell you to stop reading this article because this is going to be a SPOILER ALERT! Let’s start off with Nights in Rodanthe, the movie is going along great, the man and the woman meet, and things are rough at first because the man doesn’t want to find love.
The couple starts to get closer throughout the movie, and they actually open up the Rodanthe house together and become a real couple. As the movie starts to wind down, everyone thinks that things are fine and dandy, but then next thing you know, the man is in a foreign country helping out with a tsunami relief and he is drowned in the tsunami. That has to be one of the worst endings to a movie/book I’ve ever seen.
Well, lets just say I took that statement back after I read Dear John and The Last Song. All of Nicholas Sparks books are fast reads which is great, I read both books within a week they were so intriguing. I couldn’t wait to finish these two books, but actually about halfway through the books I didn’t want to finish them, because I knew what was going to happen in the end without even reading them all the way through.
By the time I got to the end of the books, I think I cried a whole gallon of tears. This reason right here is why a lot of girls/women do not enjoy a good Nicholas Sparks book. Some girls do enjoy a good cry once in a while and others don’t like it because they don’t like to feel sad right after reading a romantic book.
I guess after thinking about why Nicholas Sparks would make all of his books have sad endings, I finally realized why he would choose to do this. Or at least I know what my reasoning would be behind writing a lot of my books with sad endings. I wouldn’t want to make teenagers or even grown-ups feel like life is truly a fairy tale and nothing bad can ever happen. So in writing a lot of books with sad endings like people dying and relationships not turning out the way the they should have or the way that everyone would wish them to happen, he is really helping the young and old realize that everything in life isn’t always fair and that they should make the most out of what they have with the time that they have.
I highly recommend if you love reading that is, the most amazing author that I have read, Nicholas Sparks. His books will honestly and truly inspire you to be a better person and want to make other people’s lives better and improve your own life even a little!
