I bought a brand new Nissan Sentra towards the end of last year. When I bought the car, I had figured I was making the right move becasue I wouldn’t have to worry about repairs for some time. I must of spoke way too soon! As soon as I had pulled into my develpoment, I had my windows rolled down and when I passed a couple houses I heard a clicking sound from the echo off the houses.
I was really upset because it was about 30 minutes from the car dealer I bought it from and I didn’t want to drive all the way back there. There is nothing like using up your own personal gas to bring the car in to get it looked at. When I was able to bring it in the next day I spoke to the man that sold me the car. He then referred me to a service technician. I want to mention this was at a Nissan dealership.

Once they had the service team look at the car they told me that the hubcaps were over tightened, so they loosened them to solve the problem. They said everything was taken care of, so I headed home and a couple days later I heard the same noise once again. So once again I brought it back to the Nissan dealership and that time around they replaced all four hubcaps.
They said that should totally solve the problem, but now that it has been 6,500 miles into having the car I hear the same clucking noise coming from the right side front tire. I can hear is mostly when I am next to something and hear the echo come off of that object. Does anyone else have this problem at all with their 2010 Nissan Sentra or any other year? I am not sure if the vehicle is even safe to drive.
The technicians at the Nissan dealer told me that it was safe, but whenever I turn my radio off I can hear that clunking clearly. Its almopst like the wheels are going to fall off and everyone looks at me when I am driving in a parking lot. I really just want to bring it back and not buy a Nissan, but I need some advice.
I purchased my 2011 Sentra SR a few months ago and I hear the same clunking noise as soon as I move the vehicle after it has been parked. it’s like a deep “tun tun” sound that is almost always consecutive and always right after starting and moving the vehicle.
I am a bit concerned because it is definitely more than the anti-lock brakes engaging since the brakes only engage once, sometimes the noise can happen 2 or 3 times, but always when you first move the car.
You guys have it easy compared to my 2010 Sentra….one year after I purchased the car…I started having engine problems…Nissan said it was due to not having regular oil changes….but we did..I even tried to show them the receipts and they basically said I forged the receipts in order to not have to pay to fix the car…well one year later, the engine has now thrown a rod and is completely dead….and again Nissan said its nothing they can do because the motor is out of warranty…wow…Sentra’s must be LEMONS!!!!!!!!
