Today I was at my local Harris Teeter and found out the at the e-Vic item of the week was Starbucks coffee. The sale price for the Starbucks coffee was $6.99, but for e-Vic customers it was $5.99. I decided to go ahead and purchase a 12oz. bag, but as I was looking there was a coupon for $1.50 off of Starbucks Natural Fusions coffee. I was looking at all the flavors and they offer caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and savory flavors.
I decided to go ahead and purchase the Starbucks® Natural Fusions Caramel coffee since it would only be $4.49 before tax. I am a big Dunking Donuts coffee fan and would prefer Dunkin Donuts over Starbucks any day. I am a big fan because not only does it taste amazing but because of the amazing prices. Dunkin Donuts offers 4 lbs. of coffee for $19.99 and they have many flavors including whole bean or grounded.
But back to my Starbucks experience. I went ahead and made my first cup of the Starbucks Natural Fusions Caramel flavor coffee. As I was scooping the coffee into the filter of the coffee maker, I wasn’t too impressed with the smell. For one thing it didn’t smell like caramel at all, but it did smell like ground up mud. I wasn’t too happy with neither the smell nor look but I thought it still would be good because it’s Starbucks coffee.
When I poured my cup of coffee I had only put some half n half into the coffee because I didn’t want to prepare it the wrong way and wind up with a disgusting cup of coffee. I guess it didn’t matter after all because when I first tasted the cup of Starbucks coffee, I spit it into the sink. It was so acidic tasting so I decided to pour a bunch of sugar into it to make it a little sweeter and brighten it up some.
I would never buy a bag of Starbucks coffee because it was absolutely disgusting tasting and smelling. I have no clue why they call it caramel flavor because there is no smell and no taste of caramel in the Starbucks Natural Fusions Coffee. I have no recommendations to anyone for this horrible coffee, not even if you are able to buy it cheap like I was!!
I would rather encourage anyone to go to Dunkin Donuts or even Folgers coffee because at this point anything is better than buy Starbucks coffee. I have gotten Folgers coffee sometimes because I have to have regular coffee in the house for when I have my parents over because I usually buy vanilla flavored coffee and its too strong for my parents. If you need coffee do not buy Starbucks!
