Last night my father and I went to the Jordan Brand, which showcased the top high school all-stars. When we arrived at the Time Warner Cable Arena, there wasn’t that many people in attendance. There were three games total starting at 3:30 pm and we decided to go around 5 o’clock for the 5:30 game and then stay for the last game.
As we were sitting in our seats, the first thing we noticed was the loudness of the loudspeakers. Whenever the announcer would come on the speaker, it was worse than being in a small 4 door car with the windows up and the music turned to the max!! It was absolutely horrible and ear piercing.
As I was in my seat watching the game, I was trying to talk to my dad as well about the players. I had the toughest time talking to him even with him right next to me because the volume was so damn loud. They had a guest DJ also and in the middle of one of the songs he went on to turning up the volume to the point where many people around us were plugging their ears with their fingers.
The entire night I had a huge migraine due to the music and the announcer being so loud. The net problem I had was the announcer, which was the same announcer for the Charlotte Bobcats. Every damn time someone made a three pointer he said the player’s name followed by an echoed 3. It was loud and obnoxious!
During the half time show during the last game, they had a DJ mixing and it was extremely loud to start. About 3 minutes into the show, the main DJ had then turned the main volume up even higher. The DJ that was mixing was really skilled, but there was no way for me to enjoy the show because of how loud it was! I had a huge migraine and my father and I decided to go out in the main hallway because I felt my ears ready to explode.
There were many people that also headed out to the hallway due to the loudness! Another complaint that I have for the Time Warner Cable Arena is their price for food. It was a high school even and they still had the ridiculous high priced crappy food! For a cheeseburger it was 8 dollars and that wasn’t even including a drink!
I ordered a regular nacho which was just chips and cheese and it was $5.50! I felt like I was at the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC where the prices are just as high. They minus well have on the menu an arm and a leg for the prices because it will burn a hole in your wallet if you are hungry! I hate Time Warner Cable Arena and will not be returning for any further events that occur at this venue!
