We moved into an apartment about 9 months ago and when I had to decide what cable company to go with, I went with Time Warner Cable. We had bought the DVR box with extra HD channels because we always miss our shows with the changing TV times and busy activities during the day. I was so confident with them that we also added Hi-speed internet.
The price that I was paying for the internet was $39.95 per month and was very reasonable price for the service we were receiving. I had always checked my bills, even though I had my account set to auto-pay and I saw the price all the way up to $54.99. I was immediately pissed off, so I quickly grabbed the phone and had called them up.
Time Warner Cable first had talked to me about that the promotion was up that I had originally signed up for and I had stated to them that I just called and signed up. No one had ever told me that I was signing up for a 6 month or a 1 year promotion, so I was very ticked off! I had told them that I was leaving and going to another company that had a better price and probably a better service. Their ears finally perked up and they transferred me directly to the billing department.
When I had spoke to the billing department and explained to them that I was leaving, they quickly had told me that they had a promotion running right then and there for $49.95 and promised me this price for 1 year. I was thinking to myself that before when I was frustrated you couldn’t tell me about this promotion, but when I tell you I am leaving promotions start popping out of nowhere. If you want a company that will increase your bill without letting you know, get TIME WARNER CABLE!!!

I had some billing issues with Time Warner Cable that I will never, ever forget. First, I moved and they decided to double bill me. Then a few months later they decided to put my neighbor from 5 houses down’s bill on mine. So they were billing me for both my service and my neighbors. This should have been an easy, innocent error or two that could easily be cleaned up, but not with the crappy customer service they have at Time Warner Cable. They kept trying to bill me for it and said they would look into it. I don’t think they ever did.
They even reported my neighbors cable bill on my credit report because I refused to pay for that. Finally, I had to call their executives offices in NYC to get this taken care of. After over 100 phone calls the questionable items were removed from my account and my credit report cleared, but there was no apology – nothing. I do not recommend TWC. They are bad, bad news.
This is very true. They are very good at the many ways to screw the customer. I think they pay their people to dream up the lastest and greatest ways to screw over and ripoff the consumer.
