I started working at a local restaurant and was told that I needed to wear slip resistant shoes to work. This was a safety precaution for the restaurant incase I were to fall and slip and then try to sue the restaurant. I was a little upset with it becasue I don’t have a lot of money to spend right now hence the need to take this job opening.
I figured that I needed to find somewhere cheap to find shoes for my work so I headed to Walmart right down the road. When I went to the back of the store to the shoe department I was able to find a section for work shoes that were slip resistant. The name brand that Walmart carried was TredSafe, which come in a black and yellow box.
They had about 5 woman styles and 5 men styles available to choose from. There were some goofy styles such as Crock like looking shoes and sandal typed shoes. I was thinking to my self that I wouldn’t be able to wear anything with open toe so the crock like shoes were out of the choice. I then saw a nice pair that were $28, which wasn’t that much when comparing to normal shoes.
I was able to find my size so I grabbed them and got the hell out of Walmart because it is so dirty feeling when I go there. I hate the crowds that are always there and the associates are assholes. But anyways back to the TredSafe shoes. I started work the next day so I figured I would wear them around my house for a little while to wear them in. As I put my right shoe in, I felt something really hard in the shoe.
I thought that the shoe had something wrong with the padding so I was just going to bring them back to Walmart. I first tried on the left shoe to see if they were supposed to feel like that. They fit perfectly so I knew something was wrong with the right shoe. I pulled the insole out of the shoe and had found a long piece of metal in the shoe and knew that was a problem. I have no clue how this shoe got through the production line without noticing a piece of metal in a shoe. Below is a picture of the piece of metal I found :
After I pulled the piece of metal out and put the insole back in the shoe they felt fine to wear. The next day I wore the shoes to work and they were comfortable for about the first 3 hours and then I started to feel pain in my feet. I’m pretty sure that it is from not wearing them a lot but we will see how they go for the next week of work. I would recommend these shoes if you need cheap slip resistant shoes but be careful of any defects in the shoes.

thats called a shank and its suppose to be in the shoe… maybe yours was not properly inserted but it gives you arch support.. almost all decent shoes have them
If you found it by digging into the shoe then you just trashed your new shoes… if it was just inside the shoe then it was a production error
