Vonage is a much better deal then AT&T could ever dream of!
I used to have AT&T long-distance and then I got married to my wife whom has relatives that all live out of state and they all love to talk on the phone for hours on end. When I was with AT&T our long-distance phone bills would average $100-$200 per month. Then I saw ads for Vonage where you had unlimited long distance for $24.99 a month.
There were no catches or hidden fees with Vonage. So I called up AT&T and told them I was going to be switching to Vonage. The AT&T reps told me that Vonage won’t be around for long and that their service is very shoddy at best. Then they offered to give me $20 off of my next bill if I stayed with AT&T. Yeah right – the math here is simple – if I leave AT&T to go to Vonage I save between $100 and $150 per month. If I stay with AT&T I save $20 but pay an extra $100 to $150 per month.
Now the only problem was is Vonage service reliable or is it shoddy as AT&T reps claim? While I stuck my foot out and tried Vonage and their service was every bit as good as AT&T long-distance. I have all the features that I could want from three way calling to caller ID and much, much more. And the best part is I don’t have these phone bills of upwards of $200 per month anymore and my wife can talk to her family members for as long as she wants whenever she wants.
My wife’s happy, I’m happy and AT&T in my opinion sucks. Now this was years ago I switched from AT&T to Vonage so it’s not like it just happened yesterday. And I have not had one bad experience with Vonage to date! I highly recommend that if you’re reading this and you’re using AT&T or any other company’s long-distance and it’s not through the Internet that you need to switch immediately to Vonage or at least some similar service like Vonage with a fixed monthly amount for unlimited phone calls in the US.
