Walmart – Bad customer service at Wally World!

I went to Wal-Mart the other day with my kids and purchased some groceries and other things that we needed. One of my children wanted a plastic rowboat toy. He cried until he could have it. So I let him hold onto it and I tried to look at the price but there was no price on it. I looked at the shelves nearby and throughout the toy aisles and could not find the same boy or a price for one thats even similar to it.

So finally, after waiting in a long line to check out (apparently Wal-Mart has lots of employees but most of them are never at the front to help people check out – usually I see them goofing off and swapping gossip in between the aisles) we finally got to the cashier and lo and behold his name must have been Mr. bad customer service because that’s exactly what he was.

When it came to the toy rowboat he asked what happened to the price tag. I told him that there wasn’t one on it so could he please do a price check on it or otherwise look up the price. Nah, that would be asking for too much from this individual. He said that when it’s busy at Wal-Mart they don’t do price checks. So he put the item aside and refused to look up the price or have someone do a price check. My child that wanted this toy that I was willing to pay for, but he couldn’t ring itup because he was too lazy to do a price check, was hysterical over this.

The Walmart gift card scam and what you need to know!

My child was screaming because he wanted a toy that I was willing to pay for and cou he couldn’t have it because the cashier at Wal-Mart was too lazy to call for a price check. What even stirred the pot more was the fact that another Wal-Mart employee came over, picked up the item, asked the cashier if it required a price check, was told by the cashier that it didn’t need a price check, and they put it back down and walked off.  I was appalled.  I was livid.  My child was screaming  and crying and then the Wal-Mart employee had the gall to tell me that I need to take better control of my children and be a better parent!

I paid for my items and stormed out of the store.  When I got home and told my husband about my experience at Wal-Mart with this horrible cashier he told me to call the stores management and have this corrected so it wouldn’t happen to someone else.  The manager, of course, was not in any assistant manager said that they don’t do bad customer service like that Wal-Mart.  She asked me if it could’ve been another store like Target and that I just mixed them up.

I said no it was clearly Wal-Mart and I had the receipt to show it.  Finally the assistant manager said they would speak to the employee and address the issue and that was it.  That was ridiculous.  I will never go back to that same Wal-Mart ever again.

Wow! What a story! That Wal-mart employee should be fired for that. But it is the norm in low income or below poverty line and minimum wage employment. You get what you pay for. Maybe what Walmart needs to do is implement a policy where all management has to spend 1 shift a month (8 hours) as a cashier at a local Walmart – that would guaranteedly change this behavior and the working conditions.

Well, what did you expect? Wal-Mart pays its people minimum wage and if there wasn’t a minimum wage law they would pay them nothing. Wal-Mart is run by couple of executives that make millions and millions of dollars and they don’t care about customer service and things like that. They don’t even care about their employees as they just recently fired one for trying to stop a shoplifter. Wal-Mart might be the low price leader but that’s not necessarily the best place to go shopping.

Well the reason why customer service is so bad at Wal-Mart is obvious – they don’t pay their employees crap and they don’t have high standards. Sometimes I think they have no standards at all. Just go and look at some of the funny videos on YouTube about things that happen with employees at Wal-Mart. I mean I think that a military tank could literally go through that store and some of the employees would never notice or react. Last time I went to my local Wal-Mart or four employees standing on the side of the building by the oil change area smoking weed and getting stoned. Maybe that’s what it takes to work at Wal-Mart is to be stoned? I don’t know. All I know is Wal-Mart stands for minimum wage at its absolute lowest.

Wal-Mart sucks and so do their employees, dude. But their prices are great, so what are you going to do? When I go grocery shopping I usually save $50-$100 by going the Wal-Mart versus any other grocery store. And the employees aren’t that much better at the other grocery stores.

I was an employee at Walmart and you should understand the sort of shit the management puts their employees through. If your a cashier and you don’t get enough people through your lines in a certain amount of time then your fired. I as one person had to zone (make everything nice looking) seven departments. That is a hard task when you have idiots walk through the store dropping there shit everywhere. I had seen employees talking for long periods as well so that angered me horribly. Let me tell you another thing; the people who had good customer service were all fired because they didn’t make everything pretty enough, they paid attention to there customers. Don’t judge the employees so much as the management and Walmart in general. Did you know your supporting communism and consumerism by there way?

    WALLY DOLLIES ( WAL-MART CASHIEERS )

The girls at WAL- MART what a team !
They work hard, they laugh instead of scream,
People say, “ What a bunch of Wallies.”
Now being endowed with the name “ WALLIE DOLLIES”

They gather behind the check out line,
Happy and cheerful expressions all the time,
Reminds me of the Ziegfeld Follies -
This light spirited group of Wallie Dollies,

    Wallie Dollies, what’s in a name ?
In any language it means the same,
Yet sounds much better than “ CHECK OUT CHICKS”
A bunch of girls who are strong as bricks,

The Customers are elated to see their acts -
When not working they congregate in the back,
Never shirking the work although fun’s more jolly,
O Wish them well, Wal-Mart’s Wallie Dollies.

I am a cashier. I try to no matter what i do make sure the customer has what they need. But it is stressful when im not even sure if i am allowed to leave the register to get help. sometimes its easy but mainly its hard. The customers are my priority but please understand that some cashiers have had a multitude of customers that make thier day hell. wouldnt you say “meh whatever eff you” (i dont say it but its in my brain) if you tried every day to help customers who complain because you ran out of pennies and customers dont understand that you lane is closed when the light is out so you can go and wait 5-10 minutes just for a csm to finally acknowledge you are waiting for change? i am sorry. but i applaud what that cashier did. maybe not so much as not letting you get it but actually stating that its too busy and they can get fired for not serving customers in a timely manner. I know it takes me at least 2 minutes to figure out a price. and we cant give an invalid price. we can get fired. id understand maybe if he handed you the toy and said i cannot do it because we are busy BUT you can try going to customer service i am pretty sure they can help you out on the price. I am a nice cashier and my problems all day revolve around self righteous customers and cash registers that want to act up and sometimes improper training because some things customers expect me to know what to do and i send them somewhere else they can get help and i explain i do not know but i can get help. I am sorry if anyone took offense to this. =(

I went to Walmart to purchase a sheet pan and a cutting board. I found the sheet pan I needed but it was dented, so I looked for another one. The only other pan of the same type and brand was dented and scratched as well. So I spotted a worker pricing items and asked her if it was possible to mark the pan down, due to the dents. She told me that she would have to contact the manager and took a couple of steps to look for him. After some time she said, “just go to the register and tell them to call the manager and he should mark it down.” So I told her I would do that. When I got to the check out the cashier said that I would need to go to customer service. So I told her that I had previously spoke with someone who stated that the cashier would contact the manager. She said oh, do you want me to call the manager, so I said yes. She walked to customer service and came back about 3 mins later and said, “she said no. Do you still want it?” So I asked her what the lady’s name was and she said, “Tyree” so I asked what her last name was and she didn’t know. So I told her this is unacceptable and I would be reporting her. I went ahead and purchased the pan, because I specifically needed it that day and didn’t have time to haggle. If I could I would attach photos. This pan clearly needed to be marked down. It was dented and scratched as well. The customer service at Walmart is getting progressively worse over the years! I may have to take my business elsewhere…smh
