Will the iPhone be released to Verizon??

As I ponder this question before upgrading my current cell phone to a Smartphone, I went straight to a Verizon associate and asked this very question.  Will the iPhone soon come to Verizon??  Many of us Verizon Wireless customers enjoy being able to take our phones into any Verizon store for repair.  Most of the time Verizon is able to fix the phone or just replace it with a new refurbished cell phone, meanwhile costing you no lost time without a cell phone.  Verizon recently came out with the Droid, which has been stated “better and faster than the iPhone”.

During my conversation with the Verizon wireless associate, I asked “If I upgrade now to a new phone, will I be regretting it due to the iPhone maybe coming to Verizon”.  This is how the conversation went:  He specifically told me that all of Verizon’s phones can be repaired or replaced in store.  With AT&T, in order to get the iPhone repaired you must take it into an Apple store.  This means if you take it into AT&T, they will send you directly to an Apple store.  This means one reason that Verizon will never get the iPhone is due to servicing the iPhone out of store.

Another reason that Verizon wireless will not get the iPhone is due to the amazing performance of the Droid.  The Droid runs with 10,000+ apps, speech recognition, 5 megapixels, and the best network Android 2.0!!  Why would Verizon want to default to a problematic phone such as the iPhone?  To put Verizon one step ahead, Verizon has come up with the answer to the next question “what to come out with next?”  The Answer: Verizon Wireless 4G Network!  Until we see this all play out, don’t sweat the upgrade!!

Just go and buy an unlocked iPhone on Ebay or Amazon.com. You can then take your phone to any service provider that you want. I preferred the Droid and so I bought an unlocked one for cheap on eBay.
